A Douglas C-47 from the 21st Troop Carrier Squadron, 374th Troop Carrier Wing, lifts off of a small pierced steel planking (PSP) airfield in Korea. The nickname Kyushu Gypsies was given the Squadron because of its frequent moves to different bases in Japan, as well as later on the Korean Peninsula.
