This P-51D was 1st Lt. Ralph Kidd Hofer's last assigned aircraft. Hofer flew with 334 Squadron, 4th Fighter Group from September 1943 until his death on 2 July 1944. Hofer was the top ace in the 4th with a combined score of 15 air and 14 ground kills.
