Humans are born naked, the immediate response in most cultures is to wrap a newborn baby for warmth or protection. As we grow, we evolve in our taste and choose our mode of dress for a complex variety of reasons. Second Skin aims to transcend the narrow perspective of "fashion" and look at clothing on a daily, street level. In some cases garment styles have remained unchanged for millennia. Seasonally changing fashion is a part of this general scheme but not the only thing influencing what people wear. Second Skin considers the ramifications of various types of clothing production, from individually handmade garments to the mass market and the effects both locally and internationally of clothing production. The working titles of the episodes are....
